Exciting News

As you may have seen, two founders from our cohorts are finalists for the Great British Businesswoman awards.

The Great British Businesswoman series has a wonderful mission. They provide a platform “to recognise, celebrate and support women in business” and to “champion their peers and advocates.” In addition to this, they also aim to “help foster the next generation of female business leaders.”

This is a mission that we passionately support. As a result, it also gets us very excited for what is to come. We get to meet incredible female entrepreneurs through our accelerator programme, and we are so grateful that this series is highlighting two of them!

Let’s take a deeper look at our two founders…

Anneka Wallington, Recognised

Anneka has been nominated for ‘Young Businesswoman of the Year’. Recognised was part of a previous cohort. They are on a mission to bring together “amazing causes with beautiful jewellery to raise awareness, spark conversations and bring solidarity around some of the biggest issues we face today.” Anneka and her husband, Joel, founded the business. Their passion for creating change is at the heart of all they do. Recognised donates profits to charities in multiple spheres including mental health, support of Black Lives Matter and those affected by cancer. As a result, they have a broad range and the opportunity for impact is huge.

Radhika Srinivasan, EcoTextura

Radhika has been nominated for ‘Engineering & Manufacturing Businesswoman of the Year’. EcoTextura is part of our current cohort on the accelerator programme. As you may have read in our previous blog post, they create proprietary, eco-friendly & inclusive-design PPE as well as non-woven fabrics for the medical industry. EcoTextura propagates a circular-economy approach, which is pivotal when it comes to making significant changes in the current climate crisis.

This series does a fantastic job at highlighting women we can champion and celebrate in the world of business. At the same time, it recognises that there is still a long way to go in terms of gender parity. This balance of celebrating the good, whilst emphasising what needs to improve is exactly what we need. You can learn more about their mission here.

We couldn’t be prouder of these two strong and powerful women, and we’re so excited to see how these businesses continue to impact the world.
